Editorial policy

How we decide what to publish, how we keep it accurate and how money fits in.

How we choose places

We include a place when it is genuinely useful to someone planning a Paphos trip. Every page must pass seven questions:

  • Does someone actually search for or need this?
  • Is the intent clear?
  • Is GetPaphos the right site to answer it (Paphos-specific, not Cyprus-wide)?
  • Can we provide better information than what already exists?
  • Does it connect usefully to other pages?
  • Is there a real reason to visit or book?
  • Can we keep it accurate?

If the answer is mostly no, we do not publish the page.

Verification and freshness

Every page shows when it was last updated. Practical details — opening hours, prices, booking links, transport — are only shown as verified when an editor has checked them, and the page shows the date. Until then we say they are unverified and link to the official source. Restaurant recommendations are only published after verification; until then, restaurants are listed as a shortlist.

Pages that do not yet meet our quality bar can still be visible to readers but are kept out of search engines.

Commercial relationships

Some links (for example to tours, hotels or transfers) are affiliate links: if you book, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are marked as sponsored to search engines. We never accept payment for inclusion or for a positive description, and we do not publish sponsored content without labelling it.

Use of software and AI

We use software to organise data, suggest internal links and spot content that needs updating. A human editor approves every change to published content.

Corrections

If something is wrong or out of date, email hello@getpaphos.com with the page address and the correction. We aim to review corrections promptly and update the page's date when we change it.
