Attraction

Agios Neophytos Monastery

Short answer

Founded in the 12th century by the hermit Neophytos, this working monastery sits in a valley about 9 km north of Paphos, near Tala. The highlight is the Enkleistra — the cells Neophytos carved into the cliff, decorated with some of the finest Byzantine wall paintings in the Paphos area. It is quieter and cooler than the coast and pairs naturally with a drive into the hills.
